Memoirs with Mom
Motherhood blogger
I am a motherhood blogger who is sharing my story and journey of raising children in hopes that you don’t feel alone in yours. Despite the world around us, my own deep loss of my mother, and the pandemic, I choose to continue to find the joy and meaning behind every lesson. From sharing our every day victories and struggles of being a working mother to three children, to sharing my journey of grief and how it comes in waves, and when least expected. I hope this is a place in which my own children can return and know how deeply I enjoyed them and loved them despite the chaos around us. And for you, I hope I inspire you to live your most authentic life, to share your story and your truth, and to believe in the importance of always speaking it. For your words could one day mean everything to someone else.
“Owning your story & loving yourself in the process is one of the bravest things you could do”
On March 18 2016 I lost my biggest supporter, my best friend, my inspiration; my mother.
On March 18 2016 I lost my biggest supporter, my best friend, my inspiration; my mother. It was then that I wrote my most important piece- her life tribute, her eulogy. Before that moment, I wouldn’t consider myself a writer. In fact, I still don’t. I am a mom to three young children and a fur mama to my pup and frankly, a constant chaotic mess. But from that moment of darkness, I have been able to find healing and power through writing. I have been able to find peace. And others have found the same from sharing in my journey along with me. So many friends and family told me to share my stories. To put my heart on paper, but I didn’t. Not for years. Not until I was cleaning out my childhood bedroom and found a card given to me from my mom on my 20th birthday.
I clung to this card. I still do. It was my road map. It was my light nearly sixteen years later. It was then that I realized not only that I wanted to write, but I needed to write. I needed my stories to be written down so that one day my own children would know how much I loved them, how much I learned from them, and how much I truly enjoyed them.
My children inspire me daily. Through my grief and darkness I have found light and purpose. And I hope that when you visit my blog that perhaps my story and the pieces of my soul that I share may one day inspire you to share your own story. You are the only one that sees the world the way that you do. Never be afraid to share your own story and your own truth, perhaps your words will one day be someone else’s survival guide.
